6’x8’, acrylic on masonry.
This mural was painted as a memorial to West Lauderdale Middle School math teacher, Kirby Simmons. The school requested a mural with her favorite phrase 'let your light shine' as well as books that showed her preferences and career. The school's mascots are the Knights, thus the helmet on the books.
This mural includes a logo created for the Swim & Racquet club and an accompanying design. This design used a bright Hockney-inspired color palette and embraced the changing walls around restrooms to create a backdrop for the picnic area.
